Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Frankfort, Indiana. This role is vital to maintaining smooth financial operations by ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and vendor communications. The ideal candidate will have a detail-oriented mindset, strong organizational abilities, and a commitment to efficiency.

Job Responsibility:

Process invoices and payment requests in compliance with company policies and procedures
Match purchase orders and receipts to invoices, investigating and resolving any discrepancies
Prepare and execute payments using methods such as checks, ACH, or wire transfers
Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor records while addressing inquiries regarding payment status
Reconcile accounts payable transactions and assist with month-end financial close
Provide documentation and support for internal audits when required
Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding items to ensure timely resolution

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent is required
an associate degree in accounting or a related field is preferred
At least 2 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting roles
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software is essential
Demonstrated ability to perform account coding and invoice processing with accuracy
Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) payment methods and check runs
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Effective communication skills to interact with vendors and internal teams
