We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join a dynamic real estate company in Vernon, California. This contract position offers the opportunity to contribute to essential accounting operations, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and month-end support in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will bring a detail-oriented approach and a commitment to ensuring accuracy and compliance in all accounts payable activities.
Job Responsibility:
Review, code, and process a high volume of invoices for multiple entities and properties
Match invoices with purchase orders and investigate discrepancies to ensure accuracy
Secure necessary approvals and manage payment routing in alignment with company policies
Execute payment disbursements via checks and electronic transfers
Reconcile vendor statements and address billing issues with vendors and property managers
Maintain organized accounts payable files and ensure compliance with document retention requirements
Assist with month-end close processes, including accruals and audit preparation
Communicate effectively with vendors, property managers, and internal teams regarding payment status
Process employee expense reports in accordance with company guidelines
Provide support for additional accounting and administrative projects as needed
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of accounts payable experience, preferably in real estate or property management
Familiarity with basic accounting principles and month-end procedures
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software such as Yardi, QuickBooks, or similar systems
Strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented approach to problem-solving
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a deadline-sensitive environment
Associate’s degree in accounting or finance is preferred but not required
