We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Anaheim, California. This role offers a Contract to permanent position for candidates who excel in managing high-volume invoice processing and ensuring compliance with financial procedures. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in construction accounting and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.
Job Responsibility:
Process large volumes of vendor and subcontractor invoices with precision and attention to detail
Assign invoices to appropriate jobs, cost codes, and general ledger accounts, ensuring alignment with project budgets
Review purchase orders, subcontract agreements, and change orders to verify accuracy before issuing payments
Maintain comprehensive job costing records to support detailed project financial reporting
Collect and manage conditional and unconditional lien waivers in compliance with state regulations
Verify subcontractor insurance and licensing requirements prior to releasing payments
Prepare and execute weekly payments, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire transactions
Reconcile vendor statements and address discrepancies promptly and effectively
Support month-end close activities, including accounts payable accruals and job cost reporting
Organize and maintain documentation to ensure compliance during audits and uphold internal controls
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years' experience in accounts payable or a related field
Proficiency in processing invoices and performing account coding with accuracy
Familiarity with construction accounting practices and job costing
Experience with payment methods such as ACH, check runs, and wire transfers
Strong understanding of lien waivers and compliance with state regulations
Ability to perform 3-way matching to validate invoices against purchase orders and receipts
Exceptional organizational skills to manage high volumes of data and documentation
Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines
