Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in New Albany, Indiana. In this role, you will oversee the accurate and timely processing of invoices, vendor payments, and expense reports, while ensuring compliance with company policies. This position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment and contribute to the efficiency of our financial operations.

Job Responsibility:

Review invoices to confirm proper documentation and approvals before processing payments
Ensure timely payment of contracts and purchase orders as per agreed terms
Document and track all credits owed to the company to ensure proper application
Reconcile vendor statements and subcontractor pay applications, promptly addressing discrepancies
Respond to vendor inquiries, set up new vendors, and maintain accurate vendor master records
Enter invoices into the accounting system daily and post batches in a timely manner
Assist with processing expense reports for company credit cards
Prepare and reconcile month-end and year-end financial reports for management and internal use
Provide transaction records for management requests or audit purposes
Generate and distribute 1099 forms in compliance with regulations

Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable or a related field
Proficiency in account reconciliation and invoice coding
Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, including check runs
Experience working with Microsoft Excel and Sage 300 software
Ability to manage vendor relationships effectively and professionally
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Familiarity with internal control procedures and financial best practices
