We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in New Orleans. In this role, you will handle critical financial processes, including intercompany transactions, vendor invoice management, and compliance with sales and use tax regulations. You will work collaboratively across departments to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to policies.
Job Responsibility:
Process and reconcile intercompany purchase and sales transactions to ensure accurate financial records
Manage high volumes of vendor invoices, ensuring timely and precise processing in line with company policies
Prepare and record journal entries for the general ledger, maintaining accuracy and compliance
Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals and cutoff procedures
Perform monthly account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed
Support sales and use tax compliance for multiple entities by applying correct tax rules and maintaining documentation
Monitor vendor adherence to contractual terms and address any discrepancies
Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to enhance operational efficiency
Maintain audit-ready documentation to support compliance efforts
Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills for financial reporting and account reconciliations
Requirements:
Associate’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience in Accounts Payable
Minimum of three years of experience in accounts payable and financial processes
Proficient understanding of accounting principles, sales and use tax, and AP procedures
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data analysis
Strong organizational abilities with excellent attention to detail
Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
Familiarity with general ledger, account reconciliation, and GAAP accounting standards
