We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team near Walnut Creek, California. This Contract to permanent position is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated individual seeking to contribute to a fast-paced organization while advancing their career in accounting. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy in financial operations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Enter project-related data with precision into Sage or similar accounting software to maintain accurate records
  • Process and code invoices, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with company policies
  • Reconcile accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with team members and subcontractors to address billing and collection inquiries
  • Analyze financial data to detect and correct errors, maintaining the integrity of financial records
  • Prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment
  • Utilize Office applications, including Excel and Outlook, to support daily operations
  • Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
  • Provide support for other accounts payable functions as needed

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a related field
  • Proficiency in Sage or similar accounting/project management software is highly preferred
  • Strong skills in Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial analysis
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for seamless team collaboration
