Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Buffalo, New York. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to manage critical financial operations and ensure accuracy in payment processing. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounts payable functions and a strong commitment to detail and efficiency.

Job Responsibility:

Process accounts payable transactions, including invoice coding and verification, to ensure timely and accurate payments
Manage Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and check runs to maintain seamless payment operations
Review, code, and reconcile invoices in compliance with company policies and procedures
Communicate with vendors to resolve payment discrepancies and maintain positive relationships
Ensure all financial records are updated and accurately reflect payment activities
Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports related to accounts payable
Collaborate with internal teams to support budget tracking and expense management
Monitor and enforce compliance with regulatory requirements related to payment processing
Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounts payable department
Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations as required

Requirements:

Proven experience in accounts payable operations, including invoice coding and payment processing
Proficiency in handling Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and check runs
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping
Excellent communication skills for vendor and team interactions
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
Familiarity with accounting software and tools used in accounts payable
Knowledge of regulatory standards related to payment processing
Experience in generating financial reports and supporting audits
