We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a manufacturing organization in Beachwood, Ohio in an onsite Contract to permanent position. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented finance specialist who can manage invoice processing, support timely vendor payments, and maintain accurate financial records. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced accounting team while building long-term potential within the organization.
Job Responsibility
Develop a strong working knowledge of the company’s accounts payable platform and use it effectively to support daily processing activities
Review vendor invoices for completeness and accuracy, ensuring charges are assigned to the appropriate general ledger accounts
Reconcile inventory-related purchases by matching purchase orders, receiving records, and supplier invoices before approval
Prepare and issue vendor payments on an established schedule, including accurate remittance details for each transaction
Address questions from internal departments and external suppliers with clarity and timely follow-up
Support accounts payable activities involving Canadian transactions and apply the appropriate processing considerations when needed
Assist with additional accounting or administrative duties as assigned by the Accounts Payable Supervisor to meet departmental needs
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance preferred
candidates with 7+ years of relevant accounts payable experience may be considered in place of a degree
Hands-on experience in accounts payable, including invoice coding, account coding, ACH processing, and check runs
Strong attention to detail with the ability to complete tasks accurately and thoroughly
Solid organizational skills and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal stakeholders
Sound judgment, critical thinking ability, and a composed, thorough approach in a deadline-driven environment
Demonstrated reliability, integrity, and ability to collaborate well with others
Successful completion of pre-employment screening requirements prior to employment
