We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in San Antonio, Texas. This Contract to permanent position requires a detail-oriented individual with a background in high-volume invoice processing and a commitment to maintaining accuracy and efficiency. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate strong organizational skills while effectively managing vendor relationships.
Job Responsibility:
Process and verify large volumes of invoices and purchase orders, ensuring compliance with company policies
Handle weekly and monthly payment cycles, including electronic payments, checks, and transfers
Reconcile vendor statements and address discrepancies promptly through effective communication
Maintain organized and accurate records of accounts payable transactions for audit readiness
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues related to purchase orders, invoices, and payments
Assist in processing employee expense reports, ensuring adherence to reimbursement guidelines
Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and reporting
Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines in a high-volume environment and recommend process improvements
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies in all payable activities
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years' experience in accounts payable or a related field, with a focus on high-volume processing
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities
Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with vendors and teams
Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting
Familiarity with general ledger and 3-way matching processes
Nice to have:
Experience with NetSuite or similar accounting platforms is preferred
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is advantageous
