We’re looking for an AP Finance Specialist to join our Accounts Payable team in Prague. Your work will keep our suppliers paid on time, our numbers accurate and our finance engine running smoothly, directly supporting Mews’ growth and ambition to transform hospitality. This is an ideal role for someone at the start of their finance career who wants to build strong fundamentals in Accounts Payable and grow into roles in GL, controlling, or wider finance over time. You’ll be joining a six-person, experienced AP team based mainly in the Czech Republic (with one colleague in the UK) that works primarily remotely, meeting in Prague around four times per year. It’s a high-volume, high-pressure environment with recurring daily tasks and month-end crunch periods, but it’s balanced by a strong team focus to stay connected and support each other.
Job Responsibility:
Processing supplier invoices and employee expenses – ensuring they’re coded correctly and handled on time
Chasing approvals and keeping things moving so we hit payment deadlines
Preparing payment runs and supporting monthly payroll payments processing
Bank reconciliations related to AP activities
Working hand-in-hand with the GL and controlling teams to keep our books accurate and up to date
Providing quick, helpful support to suppliers and internal stakeholders via our finance helpdesk
Keeping internal process documentation up to date
Requirements:
Finance background via formal education (e.g. business/finance/accounting) or practical experience
Min. 1+ year of experience in finance or accounting (AP, GL, controlling, audit, hotel finance, etc.)
Comfortable using Excel (filters, lookups, basic formulas)
Fluent English
Strong prioritisation and organisation skills
Curious and resourceful
looks for answers before escalating
Enjoys problem-solving and spotting when something looks off
Stays calm and effective under pressure (e.g. urgent payments, month-end)
Collaborative team player with clear, positive communication
