We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Portland, Maine. Job Responsibility:

Process and verify invoices, ensuring accurate coding and timely payment
Manage both purchase order and non-purchase order accounts payable workflows
Perform regular check runs and reconcile payment discrepancies
Accurately input and maintain financial data within accounting systems
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve invoice-related issues
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all accounts payable tasks
Utilize software tools like Microsoft Excel and Lawson for efficient data management
Maintain organized records of all transactions and provide support during audits
Monitor vendor accounts and communicate effectively to address inquiries.

Requirements:

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounts payable systems
Demonstrated expertise in processing purchase orders and non-purchase orders
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding invoices and data entry
Familiarity with check processing and reconciliation procedures
Hands-on experience with Lawson or similar accounting software
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
