Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Mechanic Falls, Maine. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments while maintaining financial records to support the organization's operations. Job Responsibility:

Process and verify invoices to ensure accurate payment and proper account coding
Manage accounts payable transactions using accounting software systems and enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
Monitor accrual accounting processes and assist with audits as needed
Maintain organized financial records and documentation for reporting purposes
Address vendor inquiries and deliver excellent customer service
Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts payable
Identify opportunities for process improvements within accounts payable functions
Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements

Requirements:

Proficiency in accounting software systems and ERP tools
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and accrual accounting
Experience with auditing and financial record management
Ability to deliver exceptional customer service to vendors and internal stakeholders
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve discrepancies
Effective communication skills to collaborate across teams
Prior experience in a similar accounts payable role preferred
