Job Description

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a team in Salem, Oregon on a Contract basis. This role is well suited for someone who can step into a fast-paced accounting environment, manage full-cycle payables, and maintain accuracy across high-volume transactions. The position will also provide support with accounts receivable activities while helping keep daily financial operations running smoothly.

Job Responsibility

  • Process the full accounts payable cycle from invoice receipt through payment issuance, ensuring timely and accurate completion
  • Review and assign proper account codes to invoices before entering transactions into the accounting system and general ledger
  • Prepare and execute check runs while maintaining organized payment records and supporting documentation
  • Handle a large volume of payable transactions with strong attention to detail, consistency, and deadlines
  • Record payable activity in the general ledger and help maintain accurate financial data across accounting records
  • Assist with selected accounts receivable tasks as needed to support the broader accounting function
  • Use accounting software
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve invoice discrepancies, payment questions, and coding issues efficiently

Requirements

  • Experience managing full-cycle accounts payable in a high-volume environment
  • Strong understanding of invoice coding, payment processing, and general ledger posting
  • Ability to perform check runs accurately and maintain dependable financial records
  • Familiarity with accounts receivable support activities in addition to accounts payable responsibilities
  • Proficiency with accounting systems
  • experience with Caselle is helpful but not required
  • Solid attention to detail and the ability to prioritize work effectively in a fast-moving setting
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams
