Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Montgomery, Alabama. This is a Contract-to-permanent position within the construction industry, offering an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The role involves managing high-volume invoice processing, check runs, and ensuring accuracy in accounts payable operations for multiple business units.

Job Responsibility:

Process and review a high volume of invoices daily, ensuring accurate coding and timely posting
Conduct bi-weekly check runs to support financial operations across multiple subsidiaries
Collaborate with job sites to verify invoice coding and resolve any discrepancies before approval
Work with purchase orders and contracts to ensure proper payment to subcontractors
Maintain electronic records for all transactions, utilizing a paperless system
Assist in managing accounts payable activities for commercial, federal, and international business units
Utilize ERP and imaging systems for invoice processing and check preparation
Support the Accounts Payable Manager with vendor communications as needed
Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations in all accounts payable activities
Contribute to the overall efficiency of the accounting department through accurate and timely operations

Requirements:

Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role
Proficiency with accounting software systems, especially ERP platforms
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, including invoice processing and check runs
Familiarity with handling purchase orders and contracts for subcontractor payments
Competence in using Microsoft Outlook and PDF tools for daily operations
Ability to manage high-volume workloads with a strong attention to detail
Excellent organizational and communication skills
