We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a team in New York, New York in a Contract to permanent capacity. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting specialist who can manage invoice workflows, support timely financial close activities, and maintain strong compliance standards. The position offers the opportunity to work across departments, strengthen accounts payable processes, and contribute to an efficient, deadline-driven finance function.
Job Responsibility:
Review, code, and enter invoices submitted through shared support channels, ensuring complete and accurate processing within required timelines
Confirm supporting documentation and vendor agreements are properly in place before approving invoices for payment
Use NetSuite and Tipalti to manage day-to-day accounts payable activity and maintain accurate financial records
Process employee travel and expense submissions, including monthly American Express reconciliations and reporting
Support month-end close by preparing expense accrual entries and keeping accrual schedules current and organized
Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve billing issues, clarify discrepancies, and keep payments moving efficiently
Maintain accuracy while handling a high volume of transactions in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
Identify opportunities to streamline accounts payable procedures and improve operational efficiency within the function
Requirements:
At least 3 years of relevant experience in accounts payable, finance, or accounting roles
Hands-on experience with accounts payable processes, including invoice coding, payment support, and check run exposure
Proficiency in NetSuite and strong familiarity with accrual-based accounting activities
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, sorting, and VLOOKUP functions
Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and its application within day-to-day accounts payable operations
Proven ability to manage responsibilities independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
