Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Accounts Payable Specialist with expertise in construction accounting to join our team in Orange, California. This Contract to permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our financial operations and ensure the smooth processing of accounts payable transactions. The ideal candidate will bring strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of job cost accounting.

Job Responsibility:

  • Review and process incoming invoices, ensuring they are sorted, routed, and approved in a timely manner
  • Accurately code invoices to the appropriate job accounts and input them into the accounting system
  • Prepare and distribute payments, including issuing checks and handling credit card transactions
  • Maintain organized records by filing check stubs and invoices systematically
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to obtain necessary releases
  • Generate and maintain various reports and spreadsheets related to accounts payable
  • Utilize construction accounting software, such as Timberline and QuickBooks, to manage financial tasks
  • Support the team with additional duties and responsibilities as needed

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in accounts payable, with a preference for candidates with a construction accounting background
  • Strong knowledge of job cost accounting and invoice processing
  • Familiarity with construction-specific accounting software, such as Sage Timberline and QuickBooks
  • Ability to work effectively with vendors and subcontractors to ensure accurate documentation
  • High school diploma required
  • additional relevant certifications are a plus
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage financial records efficiently
  • Proficiency in creating and analyzing reports and spreadsheets
