We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a team in California in a contract capacity. This onsite opportunity is suited for someone who can manage day-to-day payables activitys. The role will contribute to invoice processing, reconciliations, journal entry preparation, and financial reporting in a fast-paced accounting environment.
Job Responsibility
Process vendor invoices, verify coding accuracy, and prepare payments in accordance with established deadlines and approval procedures
Maintain accounts payable records within accounting and ERP platforms, ensuring transactions are entered completely and correctly
Reconcile bank activity and vendor statements to identify discrepancies and resolve outstanding items promptly
Prepare and post journal entries related to payables, accruals, and other routine accounting activities
Assist with the preparation of financial statements by supporting account analysis and month-end close activities
Coordinate ACH payments and other electronic disbursements while confirming compliance with internal controls
Use tools such as Concur, ADP financial systems, and other accounting software to manage expense and payment workflows
Support audit readiness by organizing documentation, responding to requests, and helping maintain accurate financial files
Requirements
Experience in accounts payable and broader accounting functions within a finance environment that requires strong attention to detail
Working knowledge of account coding, accrual accounting, and journal entry preparation
Proficiency with accounting software systems, including ERP platforms and automated payment processing tools
Familiarity with Concur, ADP financial applications, or comparable systems used for payables and expense management
Ability to perform bank reconciliations and assist with financial statement support activities
Understanding of ACH transactions, invoice controls, and audit-related documentation practices
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in an onsite setting
