Our client in Houston, TX is seeking an Accounts Payable/Receivable Manager to lead and oversee financial operations within a manufacturing environment. This role requires a strategic thinker with extensive expertise in managing high-volume AP and AR processes, as well as a track record of driving efficiency and implementing process improvements. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles to support the Shared Services team.
Job Responsibility:
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams, ensuring accurate and timely processing
Drive strategic initiatives to improve efficiency and streamline processes within the Shared Services department
Lead the implementation of software tools and systems to enhance financial operations and reporting
Supervise and mentor team members, providing guidance and support to encourage attention to detail and growth
Monitor and analyze financial data, including general ledger entries and month-end close processes
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies across all financial activities
Collaborate with other departments to align financial operations with organizational goals
Identify and resolve discrepancies in accounts, maintaining accuracy and reliability in financial records
Develop and present reports to senior management on team performance and financial metrics
Participate in audits and ensure readiness for external and internal reviews
Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or financial management, with a focus on AP and AR
Proven ability to lead and manage teams in a high-volume manufacturing setting
Strong expertise in Shared Services operations and process improvement
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software systems
Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close procedures
Demonstrated experience in implementing software tools and driving operational efficiencies
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is highly preferred
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills to effectively manage teams and collaborate with stakeholders
