We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Manager to oversee the daily operations of the accounts payable department. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to manage and guide a team effectively. This role is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate payments, maintaining compliance with company policies and regulations, and driving process improvements for efficiency.
Job Responsibility:
Department Leadership: Manage, train, and develop AP team members to ensure high performance and professional growth
Invoice Processing: Oversee and ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, reimbursements, purchase orders, and expense reports
Payment Oversight: Monitor the preparation and execution of payments (checks, ACH, and wire transfers) in accordance with payment schedules and company guidelines
Vendor Management: Maintain relationships with vendors by addressing inquiries and resolving discrepancies in a professional and timely manner
Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable financial standards (e.g., GAAP)
System Optimization: Identify opportunities for automation or system enhancements to improve AP processes and reporting efficiencies
Reporting: Generate and analyze AP-related financial reports to provide insights to senior leadership and support month-end/year-end closing processes
Internal Controls: Establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard company resources and ensure compliance with financial regulations
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, finance, and other departments to streamline workflows and enhance communication
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
CPA or CMA certification is a plus
5+ years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a managerial position
Proficiency in AP software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to effectively lead a team and collaborate across departments
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment with strict deadlines
Nice to have:
Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean or Six Sigma)
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, macros)
Experience in industries where compliance to regulatory standards is critical (e.g., healthcare, manufacturing)
