We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Accounts Payable Manager to join our team on a contract basis in Irving, Texas. This long-term contract position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a high-volume AP department during a period of growth and expansion. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a knack for process improvement, and the ability to drive efficiency within a fast-paced and evolving environment. This is a 2-3 month contract position.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and mentor a team of Accounts Payable specialists, ensuring smooth operations and high performance
Manage the entire accounts payable lifecycle, including invoice intake, coding, approval workflows, PO matching, and payment processing
Address escalated issues, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timeliness within the AP function
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and support future automation upgrades
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement and operations, to streamline purchase order requirements and approval processes
Oversee weekly payment runs, including checks and ACH transactions, while maintaining strong vendor relationships
Drive the implementation and optimization of AP automation software to maximize system effectiveness
Develop and document best practices, procedures, and workflows to improve departmental performance
Provide leadership during organizational changes, including acquisitions and system modernization efforts
Reduce invoice backlog and elevate service quality for internal and external stakeholders
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounts payable, including leadership or supervisory roles
Proficiency in purchase order matching workflows
Strong knowledge of AP operations within high-volume, multi-entity environments
Proven track record of improving processes, building scalable workflows, and supporting system implementations
Comfortable working in a growth-oriented environment with evolving procedures and increased demand
Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, or similar platforms
Advanced Excel skills, including formulas and data analysis
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to guide and support cross-functional teams
Nice to have:
Experience in construction-related matching is a plus
