We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to oversee and optimize the accounts payable function within an educational organization. This long-term contract position is based in Orlando, Florida, and requires a strong understanding of procure-to-pay (P2P) processes, invoice coding, and general ledger alignment. The ideal candidate will bring a proven ability to manage vendor relationships, resolve AP issues, and implement process improvements.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice processing, coding, and ensuring accurate general ledger alignment
Manage the accounting and AP inbox, addressing inquiries and resolving payment-related issues promptly
Supervise vendor setups and maintenance, ensuring all documentation and records are accurate and up-to-date
Provide support for month-end close processes, ensuring all AP-related entries are completed accurately and on time
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounts payable operations
Maintain compliance with internal controls and ensure adherence to organizational policies
Collaborate with internal teams to address discrepancies and ensure smooth workflows
Utilize tools such as Excel, Office Suite, and Great Plains Dynamics to manage AP tasks effectively
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable, including hands-on work with P2P processes
Proficiency in coding invoices, general ledger alignment, and managing vendor relationships
Strong knowledge of payment methods such as ACH, check runs, and other disbursement processes
Experience with month-end close procedures and full-cycle accounting
Familiarity with accounting software, particularly Great Plains Dynamics, and advanced skills in Excel
Ability to manage multiple priorities, including overseeing an accounting inbox and resolving AP-related issues
Strong analytical skills with an aptitude for identifying and implementing process improvements
Nice to have:
Preferred experience with Paper Save, though not required
