Job Description:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Manager with experience in the manufacturing industry to join our team. This individual will oversee the accounts payable function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, payments, and other financial transactions. The Accounts Payable Manager will collaborate closely with various departments, including procurement and finance, to maintain a smooth workflow and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing accounting processes and will play a critical role in optimizing financial operations within the company.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and manage the accounts payable team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations
  • Oversee the timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, ensuring they are in compliance with company policies and contractual agreements
  • Review and approve payments to vendors, ensuring accurate cash management and that payment terms are adhered to
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Monitor and track purchase orders, ensuring correct allocation of expenses and inventory costs
  • Collaborate with the procurement department to verify receipt of goods and services, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing
  • Prepare and process weekly/monthly payment runs and report on payables status
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor records and ensure the integrity of accounts payable data
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes by preparing necessary reports and journal entries
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including withholding tax, sales tax, and other relevant regulations for manufacturing operations
  • Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation as required
  • Implement best practices to improve accounts payable processes, optimize cash flow, and enhance the efficiency of the AP function

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is highly preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of accounts payable processes, best practices, and accounting principles
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting processes, including inventory, materials management, and cost accounting
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across various departments
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, with a proactive approach to resolving issues
  • Ability to handle a high volume of transactions and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, such as sales tax, and ability to ensure compliance
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop a team
