Bridget Killen from Robert Half is seeking an Accounts Payable (AP) Manager to ensure the accurate processing, recording, and reconciliation of the organization’s financial activity. The AP Manager will play a key role in supervising payment operations, maintaining financial records, and supporting reporting requirements. Flexibility is important, as the AP Manager may be asked to take on additional assignments beyond their primary responsibilities. The team works collaboratively to accomplish all objectives.
Job Responsibility:
Supervise Accounts Payable staff and clerks
Manage daily banking operations and related functions
Reconcile assigned General Ledger accounts
Review and approve daily and weekly transactional entries and receipts
Conduct monthly exception and aging report reviews
Investigate and resolve coding errors in accounts payable transactions
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports as required
Create schedules and summaries to support department needs
Perform bank reconciliations for assigned accounts
Assist with preparation and facilitation of internal and external audits and program reviews
Provide program expenditure reports to program staff upon request
Offer technical assistance on expenditure compliance, ensuring adherence to organizational policies, GAAP, and OMB regulations
Support annual SEFA preparation for audit
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting, with previous supervisory experience preferred
Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory compliance standards
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with a collaborative and team-oriented approach
High attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to meet strict deadlines
Nice to have:
Previous experience supporting audits and preparing financial reports is highly desirable
