A commercial real estate firm is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to lead and manage all AP operations. This hands-on role offers ownership of the AP function, opportunities to modernize processes, and a chance to make a meaningful impact within a small, lean accounting team.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee high-volume AP operations, including invoice processing, check/ACH payments, 1099 reporting, and vendor management
Maintain strong internal controls and ensure timely, accurate payment of obligations, including taxes and loan payments
Manage vendor relationships, maintain files, and support compliance reporting
Support AP-related audits, recordkeeping, and process improvements, including potential transition to electronic payments
Collaborate with accounting and property management teams to ensure smooth operations
Requirements:
10+ years of AP experience, preferably in the commercial real estate industry
Proven ability to manage high-volume check processing and vendor relationships
Strong knowledge of mortgage and property tax payments, 1099s, and internal controls
Experience with MRI or similar real estate accounting systems
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
