We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to support a busy manufacturing operation in Rancho Dominguez, California. This Long-term Contract position is fully onsite and offers the opportunity to manage high-volume invoice activity, maintain accurate financial records, and help keep daily accounting processes running smoothly. The ideal candidate is comfortable working through large volumes of documentation, following established procedures, and identifying issues that need further review.
Job Responsibility:
Process vendor invoices accurately by reviewing supporting documents, confirming approvals, and entering payment details into the accounting system
Match purchasing, receiving, and billing records to ensure transactions are complete and properly documented before posting
Code invoices to the appropriate accounts and maintain organized records for manual, approved, and outstanding invoice activity
Assist with check run preparation and support timely payment processing in accordance with internal procedures
Perform light account reconciliations and bring discrepancies, missing paperwork, or irregular charges to the appropriate contact for resolution
Handle high-volume data entry with a strong focus on accuracy while scanning, sorting, and organizing accounting documentation
Support accounts receivable and collections-related follow-up by contacting customers through email or phone when needed
Review customer account activity to help identify payment issues, open balances, and items requiring additional research
Provide general clerical support to the accounting team, including filing, collating paperwork, and maintaining orderly financial records
Requirements:
At least 1 year of experience in accounts payable, invoice processing, or a related accounting support role
Working knowledge of invoice coding, vendor invoice entry, check runs, and accounts payable procedures
Ability to work with high volumes of paperwork and numeric data while maintaining strong attention to detail
Experience using QuickBooks is strongly preferred
Basic Excel skills, including inserting rows and columns, are required
Comfortable following established accounting procedures and learning role-specific processes quickly
Strong communication skills with the ability to flag discrepancies and follow up on payment-related questions
Availability to work onsite Monday through Friday in Rancho Dominguez, California starting immediately
