Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Louisville, Kentucky. In this role, you will play a key part in managing and processing vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced accounting environment.

Job Responsibility:

Process vendor invoices promptly and accurately, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
Review and code invoices to the appropriate accounts to maintain accurate financial records
Perform check runs and ensure timely payments to vendors
Reconcile discrepancies in invoices and resolve any payment issues with vendors
Maintain organized records of accounts payable transactions for auditing purposes
Assist in month-end closing activities related to accounts payable
Collaborate with other departments to address and resolve invoice or payment inquiries
Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date and avoid overdue balances

Requirements:

Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role
Strong understanding of invoice processing, coding, and payment procedures
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with vendors and internal teams
