We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Hickory, North Carolina. In this long-term contract role, you will play a vital part in managing financial transactions and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of accounts payable processes. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative environment and contribute to the smooth operation of our accounting department. Part-Time Only- about 15 hours weekly.
Job Responsibility:
Process invoices accurately and in a timely manner to maintain operational efficiency
Verify and code invoices in compliance with company policies and procedures
Prepare and execute check runs, ensuring all payments are properly authorized
Maintain organized and up-to-date records of accounts payable transactions
Reconcile discrepancies and resolve issues related to invoices and payments
Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to address inquiries and ensure smooth communication
Support month-end closing activities by providing necessary accounts payable data
Assist in improving systems and workflows for enhanced accounts payable operations
Provide regular reports and updates on payment statuses and outstanding invoices
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company guidelines
Requirements:
Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role
Proficiency in invoice processing, coding, and check runs
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to resolve discrepancies and manage payment inquiries effectively
Excellent communication skills for vendor and team interactions
Familiarity with accounting software and tools
Knowledge of financial regulations and best practices in accounts payable
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
