Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Wells, Maine. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to support the accounts payable process and ensure accurate financial record-keeping. The ideal candidate will bring prior experience in accounts payable and strong organizational skills to help streamline operations. Job Responsibility:

  • Process and verify invoices, ensuring accurate coding and timely payments
  • perform account reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records
  • handle check runs and ensure proper documentation for all disbursements
  • enter data into accounting systems with precision and efficiency
  • collaborate with team members to address discrepancies and resolve issues
  • maintain and organize records for easy retrieval and audit purposes
  • utilize software tools such as Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and Oracle to manage accounts payable processes
  • prepare reports and summaries related to accounts payable activities
  • support the team in meeting deadlines and adhering to financial policies
  • contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role
  • proficiency in tools like Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and Word
  • familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks and Oracle
  • strong data entry skills with high attention to detail
  • ability to perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • knowledge of coding invoices and processing payments
  • excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • effective communication and teamwork abilities.
