We are looking for a skilled Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Monterey, California. This one-month assignment offers the opportunity to contribute to the efficient operation of a manufacturing facility's accounting department during a busy period. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibility:
Accurately review, code, and process a large volume of vendor invoices and expense reports
Ensure all payments are processed promptly and maintain thorough records within the accounting system
Communicate professionally with vendors to address inquiries regarding payments and account statuses
Provide support during month-end closing processes to ensure accurate financial reporting
Organize and maintain accounts payable documents to meet audit and compliance standards
Perform general accounting and administrative tasks as needed to support the department
Collaborate with team members to manage priorities and maintain workflow efficiency during peak times
Requirements:
Minimum of two years of experience in accounts payable, preferably in a manufacturing setting
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to handle high-pressure situations and prioritize multiple tasks effectively
Excellent communication skills to interact with vendors and team members
Reliable and punctual with the ability to commit to a one-month contract
Experience with invoice coding, check runs, and three-way matching processes
