We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in New Albany, Indiana. In this role, you will play a key part in managing vendor payments and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of accounts payable processes. This position offers a hybrid work option and requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical and organizational skills.
Job Responsibility:
Process and review high volumes of vendor invoices, ensuring appropriate approvals, accurate GL coding, and compliance with established procedures
Resolve discrepancies between purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices by collaborating with purchasing managers
Serve as a proficient user of accounts payable automation platforms and accounting system modules
Coordinate daily visual management meetings with the Shared Services Supervisor to streamline AP operations
Provide support to internal departments and vendors by addressing inquiries and maintaining strong relationships
Prepare weekly payment files for approval and processing, ensuring timely execution
Monitor accounts payable inboxes to respond to inquiries and resolve issues promptly
Reconcile outstanding balances with key suppliers and perform detailed research to address discrepancies
Ensure accurate month-end procedures, including invoice accruals and cutoff processes
Assist with external audits, tax filings, and 1099 reporting through meticulous recordkeeping
Requirements:
High school diploma required
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable, with a strong understanding of AP workflows
Proficiency in accounting software, such as NetSuite, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on process improvement
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all tasks
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing needs
Prior experience in manufacturing accounting is an asset
Effective communication skills for collaborating with vendors and internal teams
