Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Ashland, Nebraska. This position involves managing key aspects of the accounts payable process, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and account reconciliation. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounts payable functions and proficiency in accounting software to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.

Job Responsibility:

Accurately process vendor invoices, ensuring timely and precise data entry into the accounting system
Prepare and issue vendor payments through checks, wire transfers, and credit card transactions
Reconcile accounts payable transactions, including vendor statements, purchase orders, and general ledger records
Review and process employee expense reports, verifying compliance with company policies
Address and resolve vendor inquiries, disputes, and discrepancies with attention to detail
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards throughout the accounts payable process
Generate detailed accounts payable reports and support month-end closing activities
Collaborate on process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounts payable workflow

Requirements:

Proven experience in accounts payable, including invoice processing, payment preparation, and reconciliation
Proficiency in accounting software, with a strong preference for Sage 300
Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles such as debits and credits
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record management
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
Strong organizational and communication skills to manage vendor relations effectively
Ability to analyze and resolve discrepancies within accounts payable transactions
