We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in San Diego, California. This is a contract position within the non-profit sector, requiring strong organizational and communication skills to ensure the efficient handling of accounts payable processes. The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to accuracy in financial operations.
Job Responsibility:
Process 60-80 invoices weekly, ensuring proper coding, matching, and batching based on vendor history
Prepare journal entries, including month-end accruals and expense corrections, with attention to detail
Conduct weekly check runs, assisting in check preparation and printing as needed
Utilize software tools like NetSuite, Excel, and Ramp to efficiently manage accounts payable tasks
Communicate effectively with vendors and internal staff to address discrepancies and resolve payment-related issues
Maintain and update vendor files, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards
Support credit card expense processing, collaborating with staff accountants and payroll for seamless operations
Apply critical thinking to identify and research discrepancies, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures
Assist with reconciling vendor statements and monitoring recurring transactions for accuracy
Uphold organizational policies and timelines while handling sensitive financial data
Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounts payable or a similar role
Proficiency in accounting software, including NetSuite, Excel, and Ramp
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies effectively
Experience with coding, matching, and batching invoices
Familiarity with preparing journal entries and month-end accruals
Excellent communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal teams
Ability to independently manage weekly check runs and maintain vendor files
Problem-solving skills and critical thinking to handle delays or unexpected issues
