Job Description:

We are looking for a highly organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Suffolk, Virginia. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who will play a key role in managing vendor relationships, processing invoices, and ensuring cost allocations are accurate and timely.

Job Responsibility:

Process and verify invoices, ensuring they match purchase orders and job cost reports
Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor records, resolving inquiries and discrepancies promptly
Reconcile accounts payable statements and prepare thorough account reconciliations
Collaborate with project teams to allocate costs appropriately to jobs and projects
Track and monitor job-related expenses for budgeting and reporting
Utilize Sage accounting software to manage payable details and generate accurate reports
Perform data analysis in Microsoft Excel, including creating pivot tables and applying formulas
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to accounts payable
Support month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing necessary documentation

Requirements:

Minimum of two years of experience in accounts payable
Proficiency in Sage accounting software for tracking and reporting
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and formulas
Strong organizational and analytical capabilities
Knowledge of job costing processes and expense tracking
Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent communication skills to interact with vendors and internal teams
Familiarity with accounts payable compliance and reporting standards
