We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Executive / Senior Executive. The core focus is on government liaison, tax compliance, and managing trade-related approvals (Customs, MITI, MIDA), while also supporting the timely and accurate financial closing process.
Job Responsibility:
Lead Government Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for relevant government and regulatory authorities (Customs, MITI, MIDA, BNM), demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills
Trade Compliance: Prepare, submit, and manage documentation for manufacturing compliance approvals and relevant permits (e.g., material return permits)
Tax Filing: Prepare and submit accurate bi-monthly sales tax and monthly service tax returns
Regulatory Reporting: Prepare and reconcile mandatory reports for regulatory bodies, including monthly/quarterly Customs reports and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) statistical reports
Audit Response: Serve as the first point of contact to respond to audit queries and ad hoc data requests from all relevant government authorities
Audit Support: Support the Head of Department (HOD) during the annual statutory audit process, preparing relevant documentation and liaising with external auditors
Month-End Support: Assist with the monthly account closing procedures and perform bank reconciliations, coordinating closely with cross-functional departments
Statutory Reconciliation: Prepare and reconcile statutory payments (e.g., EPF, SOCSO) for accurate financial recording
Risk Reporting: Compile quarterly risk management reports for various departments to support internal governance structures
Financial Analysis: Perform ad hoc financial analyses, special projects, and assist with strategic financial deep dives as assigned by management
Requirements:
Possess at least a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Studies/Administration/Management, Accounting, or an equivalent qualification
Minimum of 2 years of progressive work experience in a related finance or compliance role, preferably within a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated expertise and specialization in Government Compliance related to Customs Duties, Sales & Service Tax (SST), and Trade Regulations (e.g., MITI, MIDA)
Proficiency in the SAP ERP system will be a distinct advantage
