Responsible for assisting the managers and partner of the business services and accounts department with the effective management of a portfolio of bookkeeping and accounting clients together with conducting ad hoc special assignments as requested.
Job Responsibility:
Provide bookkeeping services, pay all bills, complete tax computations and VAT returns, prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts
Preparation of year-end financial accounts from both bookkeeping records prepared in house and from clients' records which may be incomplete
Ensure that all statutory returns are completed and filed on time
Organise the effective time management of own workload and that of the managers and partner
Undertake any ad hoc projects as requested by the partners
Requirements:
Experience preferred but training can be given
Must be IT literate with a good working knowledge word and excel
Experience in using major bookkeeping software packages such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, Iris etc. would be preferable but not essential
Must have a willingness and a desire to develop greater understanding of such packages
Strong organisational and time management skills
Ability to plan, anticipate bottlenecks in the workflow, cope with conflicting demands and priorities
Very good eye for detail, be methodical and take pride in producing neat, clear, and accurate work
Good interpersonal skills and a professional manner
Able to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and colleagues
Numerate
High standard of written English
Nice to have:
Experience in using major bookkeeping software packages such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, Iris etc.
