An exciting opportunity has arisen at R.A. Dalton for a motivated and detail‑driven Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, supporting smooth financial operations and contributing to an organised and efficient accounts function. In this role, you will support the day‑to‑day running of the accounts department, ensuring financial information is processed accurately and efficiently. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the business, contributing to a smooth workflow and maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.
Job Responsibility:
Posting supplier invoices and credits
Setting up new supplier accounts
Posting and reconciling credit card receipts
Assisting with customer accounts, including setting up new customers and carrying out credit checks
Helping to raise sales invoices and credit notes
Sending monthly customer statements
Supporting ad hoc accounting duties and general administrative tasks
Requirements:
Previous experience in an accounts or finance support role
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Confidence working both independently and as part of a wider team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Sage 200 software
Good communication skills when liaising with suppliers, customers and internal teams
A proactive approach to problem‑solving and process improvement
Nice to have:
Previous experience or an understanding of CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) is desirable
Experience with purchase ledger duties or credit control processes would be beneficial
