Accounts Assistant Client Accounts Assistant - Leading Property Brand - Croydon - Hybrid/Agile Working Are you an organised, detail-oriented accounts professional looking for a new challenge? We have an exciting opening for a Client Accounts Assistant to join a dynamic property solutions division! This role is crucial in ensuring financial compliance and providing excellent service to clients and property managers.

Job Responsibility

  • Ensuring service charges are accounted for accurately and on time, adhering to industry codes and accounting regulations
  • Preparing and reconciling property management system information
  • Checking expenditure and preparing the year-end balancing service charge surplus/deficit calculation
  • Assisting with the preparation of Section 20b notices
  • Dealing with queries from property managers, accountants, and clients
  • Liaising with property managers and external auditors
  • Providing assistance with any additional ad-hoc accounting or administrative tasks

Requirements

  • Maths and English at GCSE (A-C) or equivalent
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good numerical skills
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and as a team player
  • Ability to prioritize critical workload and thrive under pressure and strict time frames
  • Well-developed interpersonal and oral communication skills
  • Customer-focused approach and diplomacy

  • Year-End Preparation: Take responsibility for a defined portfolio of accounts, ensuring all necessary documentation is compiled for external audit within strict deadlines. This includes the accurate preparation of statutory accounts and associated tax affairs
  • Journal Entries & Adjustments: Process all end-of-year adjustments, including transfers for long-term reserve funds (sinking funds) and ensuring accurate ledger balances before final accounts are produced
  • Balance Sheet Integrity: Regularly reconcile expenditure within the accounting system
  • Surplus/Deficit Calculations: Calculate and process the final year-end balancing amount (surplus or deficit) for specific funds, issuing corresponding invoices (demands) or credit notes as required
  • Audit Management: Act as a key point of contact, coordinating with external auditors and internal managers
  • Query Handling: Efficiently manage and resolve accounting queries from internal managers and external third parties
  • Compliance Support: Assist with the preparation and documentation of key financial notices
