As an Assistant Accounts Manager, your primary responsibility will encompass overseeing a portfolio of non-audit clients. This role involves managing both senior and junior accountants while aiding in their professional growth. Collaborating with their management team and clients is crucial to effectively prioritise tasks and ensure meeting deadlines and client expectations. Additionally, cultivating strong internal relationships with colleagues across different service lines is essential for delivering top-notch service to our clients.

Job Responsibility

  • Assessing the work of senior and junior staff, encompassing statutory accounts, tax returns, management accounts, and VAT returns within diverse sectors
  • Managing workflow efficiently
  • Effectively prioritising tasks to meet assigned deadlines and budgets
  • Engaging with clients to discuss and offer guidance on their business and financial matters
  • Drafting statutory accounts, management accounts, and tax computations
  • Utilising various software platforms like CCH, Sage, and Xero
  • Providing training to junior accountants and coordinating with educational providers
  • Conducting ad hoc assignments as required

Requirements

  • ACA / ACCA certification or equivalent experience
  • Hands-on experience with limited companies and sole traders for both annual and management accounts
  • Proficiency in corporation tax matters
  • Strong organisational abilities, prioritisation skills, and attention to detail to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all business levels
  • Mentoring junior staff members
  • IT proficiency including Excel, Sage, Xero, etc.
