Job Responsibility:
Review daily accounting activity including night audit, revenue postings, and receivables
Monitor hotel revenues and expenses to ensure accuracy and compliance
Assist with monthly financial reporting, forecasts, and variance analysis
Reconcile balance sheet accounts, bank statements, and credit card transactions
Maintain accurate general ledger records and supporting documentation
Oversee billing, collections, and city ledger accounts
Review of invoices for accuracy, coding, and proper approvals
Ensure timely processing and payment of vendor invoices
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
Support cash flow management, deposits, and general cashier functions
Ensure compliance with internal controls related to purchasing, payroll, and disbursements
Verify adherence to purchasing procedures, including PO matching
Safeguard hotel assets and maintain accurate financial records
Supervise and support accounting team members
Provide training, coaching, and ongoing performance feedback
Assist with scheduling and workflow coordination
Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team environment
Support internal and external audits
Ensure compliance with company policies, brand standards, and regulatory requirements
Maintain organized documentation and audit trails
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment
Strong knowledge of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and hotel accounting processes (night audit, PMS systems such as Lightspeed)
Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting systems
Solid understanding of financial reporting and internal controls
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
