A dynamic and growing real estate/property management company in the South Bay is seeking a driven Accounting Supervisor to lead daily accounting operations and elevate financial performance across a diverse portfolio. The Accounting Supervisor will oversee core accounting functions, ensure accuracy in financial reporting, and strengthen processes that support property performance and operational excellence. This is a high‑visibility position with room to grow, innovate, and shape the accounting function.
Job Responsibility:
Lead daily operations within the Accounting Department to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company standards
Review and approve journal entries across income, fees, payroll, taxes, insurance, and miscellaneous categories
Oversee timely and accurate bank reconciliations
review and record adjustments as needed
Monitor monthly general ledger reconciliations for inter‑book balances, impound accounts, and mortgage accounts
Prepare and submit monthly management fee and payroll reimbursement reports
Coordinate semi‑annual property tax schedules for all company properties
Ensure vendor files are updated, accurate, and properly maintained
Manage team schedules, monitor attendance, and approve time‑off requests
Conduct annual performance evaluations, offering coaching and development feedback
Support additional projects and department initiatives as needed
Requirements:
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within real estate or property management
Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred
Strong technical understanding of GAAP, month‑end close, and financial reporting
Experience with property management/accounting software is a plus
Detail‑oriented, analytical, and proactive with strong communication skills
A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting supervision or management roles
Proven expertise in month-end close processes and general ledger management
Strong knowledge of account reconciliation and journal entry preparation
Experience with financial statement audits and inventory accounting
Proficiency in overseeing complex accounting operations and ensuring compliance with standards
Excellent organizational and leadership skills to manage a team effectively
Attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders
Nice to have:
