Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Supervisor to join our team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This is a contract-to-permanent position within the healthcare industry, offering an excellent opportunity for growth. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills and a solid background in accounting to oversee a small team and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements, supporting documentation, and workpapers
  • Analyze financial reports, create specialized accounting reports, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Develop audit workpapers and collaborate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits
  • Assist in the creation and evaluation of financial budgets and annual audit processes
  • Manage financial presentations for committee meetings and oversee related coordination efforts
  • Supervise a team of up to five accounting staff, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals
  • Perform account reconciliations and ensure accurate journal entries
  • Lead special projects and address tasks as requested by management

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting with attention to detail
  • At least 3 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role
  • Strong knowledge of month-end close processes and general ledger management
  • Proficiency in preparing financial statements and conducting audits
  • Expertise in account reconciliation and journal entry preparation
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and manage a team in a fast-paced environment
