Our well-established client in the construction industry is seeking a dynamic Accounting Supervisor/Manager to lead a team of three and play a key role in shaping the financial future of the organization. Reporting directly to the CFO, this position offers a unique blend of financial reporting and operational accounting responsibilities. Job Responsibility

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small but high-performing accounting team, fostering collaboration and professional growth
  • Oversee the full financial reporting process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery of all reports
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations and prepare detailed cash flow and deposit reports
  • Monitor project costs and manage work-in-progress (WIP) tracking and reporting
  • Maintain and update fixed asset records, including depreciation schedules and capital asset reporting
  • Prepare and file all required tax reports, ensuring compliance with local, regional, and federal regulations
  • Support payroll operations, including commission calculations, reconciliations, and backup processing
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly internal financial statements for leadership review and decision-making
  • Assist in annual budgeting and forecasting processes
  • coordinate with external auditors during financial audits
  • Partner with external accountants to manage annual tax filings and related compliance matters
  • Oversee the billing, collections, and accounts payable processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with construction industry and percent of completion (POC) experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and core accounting principles
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis tools)
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as SAP, Sage, or NetSuite preferred
