We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Accounting Specialist to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This part-time role offers a contract-to-permanent opportunity, allowing for growth and long-term potential within the organization. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting financial operations and administrative tasks with precision and efficiency.
Job Responsibility:
Accurately input accounts payable transactions and cash receipts into accounting systems
Organize and maintain both digital and physical records by scanning and filing packaging lists
Reconcile financial statements and assist with month-end closing activities to ensure accuracy
Coordinate check runs and contribute to collection efforts as needed
Monitor employee applications and facilitate performance review processes
Review and manage timecard reports for accuracy and compliance
Provide purchasing support by generating purchase orders and placing required orders
Maintain spreadsheets for general ledger activities, expense tracking, and reporting
Perform administrative and accounting-related tasks to support overall operations
Requirements:
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills
Capable of working independently in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with spreadsheet management
Comfortable learning and adapting to new software tools and technologies
Previous experience in accounting, administrative support, or purchasing is preferred
Excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence when interacting with team members
