We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day financial operations for a construction-focused business. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable managing billing activities, payroll-related documentation, and high-volume accounting records with accuracy. The position requires someone who can keep receivables, payables, and project-related financial information organized and current.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and manage progress billings for construction projects, ensuring contract terms and billing schedules are followed accurately
Process certified payroll records and maintain supporting documentation in compliance with project and regulatory requirements
Handle accounts payable tasks, including reviewing invoices, entering payment details, and maintaining organized vendor records
Support accounts receivable activities by tracking customer balances, applying payments, and following up on outstanding invoices
Enter financial and project-related data into QuickBooks and other internal records with a high level of accuracy
Review invoice details for completeness and alignment with job costs, approvals, and billing requirements
Assist with construction accounting activities by maintaining organized financial records tied to projects, vendors, and payroll reporting
Requirements:
At least 3 years of experience in an accounting clerk or similar accounting support role
Previous experience working with construction accounting processes, including project-related billing and payroll documentation
Proficiency with QuickBooks and confidence using accounting systems for daily transaction processing
Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoice processing procedures
Strong data entry skills with careful attention to accuracy and recordkeeping
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain organized financial documentation in a fast-paced environment
