We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to provide hands-on accounting support for a portfolio of real estate properties in Fresno California. This contract opportunity has the potential to become permanent and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys keeping financial activity organized, and can confidently manage day-to-day transactional accounting across multiple entities. The role centers on maintaining accurate records, supporting billing and payment activity, and contributing to a smooth month-end process.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee day-to-day accounts payable activities by reviewing invoices, assigning proper coding, and coordinating timely payment processing
Administer accounts receivable functions, including issuing invoices, applying incoming payments, and following up on outstanding balances
Complete regular bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and discrepancies are resolved promptly
Support tenant move-out accounting by preparing final charges, reconciling resident accounts, and confirming billing accuracy
Process employee mileage reimbursements and other routine disbursements in accordance with company procedures
Track credit card expenses across properties and verify that supporting documentation and coding are complete
Maintain organized and accurate financial records for multiple properties or business entities while ensuring consistency across accounts
Assist with month-end close activities and provide additional accounting support as priorities shift or new needs arise
Requirements:
At least 2 years of accounting experience with hands-on responsibility for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations
Prior experience handling accounting activity for multiple entities, locations, or property portfolios is strongly preferred
Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of transactions while maintaining a high level of accuracy
Proficiency with accounting software and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Solid understanding of billing processes, account reconciliation, and general accounting support functions
Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and balance competing deadlines
Experience with bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliation in an accounting environment that requires close attention to detail
