We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join a team in Greensboro, North Carolina on a contract basis with the potential for a permanent position. The position offers the opportunity to contribute across both payables and receivables while helping maintain organized, timely, and reliable accounting operations.
Job Responsibility:
Process vendor invoices, review payment details for accuracy, and help ensure obligations are paid within established timelines
Manage customer invoicing activities, monitor incoming payments, and follow up on outstanding balances as needed
Reconcile account activity by comparing financial records, identifying discrepancies, and supporting timely resolution
Maintain accurate accounting documentation and update financial information to support daily operational needs
Assist with billing-related tasks, including preparing invoices, reviewing charges, and addressing payment questions
Support broader accounting functions by organizing records, verifying transaction data, and contributing to month-end activities
Requirements:
Experience handling accounts payable and accounts receivable responsibilities in a detail-focused accounting environment
Working knowledge of billing processes, payment applications, and account reconciliation practices
Ability to review financial information carefully and identify inconsistencies or missing details
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounting tasks and deadlines
Proficiency with standard accounting systems and Microsoft Office tools, especially spreadsheet-based work
