Job Description

Robert half is partnering with Delafield, WI area client in the recruiting for an Accounting Specialist to focus on accounts payable (AP), month-end close processes, and general ledger (GL) maintenance, with additional responsibilities supporting branches with inventory coordination. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial records, timely processing, and support for branch-level operations.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage all AP functions, including invoice processing, vendor communications, payment runs, and reconciliation of AP sub-ledger to the GL
  • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial transactions
  • Participate in month-end close activities, including account reconciliations, accruals, and preparation of schedules
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, investigating variances and resolving discrepancies as needed
  • Support the branches with inventory-related tasks, such as assisting with inventory counts, reconciliation between physical and system inventory, and processing inventory adjustments
  • Coordinate with branch managers and warehouse teams to resolve inventory discrepancies and implement process improvements
  • Assist with preparation of management reports, financial schedules, and ad-hoc analysis as requested
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, financial controls, and relevant accounting standards
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to facilitate smooth information flow between branches and the main office
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting records and documentation.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of accounting experience with proven experience with AP processes, month-end close, and GL accounting practices
  • Experience supporting inventory activities in an accounting/operations role a plus
  • Proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • experience with Sage Intact is a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team managing multiple priorities.
