Accounting Specialist

• Prepare and issue invoices for healthcare services, ensuring compliance with Medicaid and Medicare billing requirements
• Conduct account reconciliations, including bank statements, balance sheets, and subsidiary ledgers, to maintain financial accuracy
• Review documentation such as service logs and program referrals to ensure adherence to billing standards and grant requirements
• Collaborate with internal teams to track billable units and ensure alignment with contract scopes of work
• Manage billing processes for grant-funded programs, community outreach initiatives, and healthcare-related services
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, providing clear communication and thorough support
• Maintain detailed billing records and create reports on outstanding balances and revenue trends
• Assist with audits by organizing documentation and providing necessary clarifications
• Coordinate with program and finance teams to ensure accurate cost allocations and timely billing
• Develop and maintain billing schedules to ensure timely submission of invoices

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or general accounting
• Proficiency in accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or Netsuite
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and reconciliations
• Strong knowledge of healthcare reimbursement models and standard billing practices
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial processes
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and customer service skills

Familiarity with nonprofit or grant-funded billing is preferred
