We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team in Silver Lake, Wisconsin. This entry-level position focuses on supporting Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable operations in a fast-paced, process-driven environment. As part of a small accounting team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial transactions. Job Responsibility:
Process and accurately enter invoices for Accounts Payable into the company’s accounting system
Match invoices with purchase orders and supporting documentation prior to payment processing
Assist in preparing weekly payment runs and ensure checks are matched with appropriate documentation
Record customer payments received via checks and electronic transactions, applying them to the correct accounts
Reconcile cash batches and ensure all entries are properly documented within the accounting system
Conduct soft collections by reviewing aging reports, sending account statements, and following up on overdue payments
Organize and maintain accounting records to ensure easy access and compliance with company standards
Provide administrative and data entry support for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
Handle high volumes of financial data with precision and attention to detail
Collaborate with the Controller and team members to support various accounting tasks and projects
Requirements:
Entry-level experience in accounting or administrative support within a financial environment
Strong attention to detail and the ability to process large volumes of data accurately
Familiarity with manual accounting systems, including AS400 or similar platforms
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel for simple formulas and data organization
Organizational skills to manage and maintain financial documentation efficiently
Ability to work in a structured, process-driven environment
Reliable attendance and a commitment to meeting deadlines
Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and following up with customers
