Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented individual to join our accounting team in Dayton, Ohio. The Accounting Professional will support detailed transactional accounting activities across multiple business areas within a fast-paced technology environment. This role focuses heavily on journal entries, reconciliations, and Excel-based reporting, with direct involvement in month-end and period-end close processes. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working at a granular level with financial data.

Job Responsibility:

  • Record financial transactions through journal entries, including amortization, allocation, and accruals
  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with established accounting policies
  • Compile, analyze, and maintain financial reports to ensure accurate tracking and distribution of expenses
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
  • Perform fluctuation and variance analysis to identify trends and discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate supporting documentation for internal and external audits
  • Support compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement and help streamline accounting workflows
  • Support ad-hoc accounting and finance projects as assigned
  • Flexibly support multiple business areas and shift priorities throughout the workday as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong experience using Excel (primary tool for data organization, analysis, and journal entry preparation)
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to review high-volume transactional data
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • High level of professionalism, initiative, and accountability
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams

Experience with Google Sheets is a plus
